Hey everyone. Regarding yesterdays cancellation in LA - our mgmt - TopicsExpress

Hey everyone. Regarding yesterdays cancellation in LA - our mgmt has made a few statements explaining what happened on our behalf, but Turkuaz would like to explain a few things, both to those who have been criticizing us, as well as those who havent been and are just plain disappointed. We spend our lives (200+ days a year out on the road) playing shows all around the country in rooms of all shapes and sizes. We are a band who has lugged gear through prison security to play a free show for inmates in a gymnasium. Weve done concerts and clinics for middle schoolers in an auditorium. If you think were in the business of canceling shows for frivolous reasons, youre sorely mistaken. We were dealing yesterday with a promoter who had already changed locations, tried to bail on the show just days before, had removed his financial commitment and backing from the show, and was still changing and/or withholding BASIC logistical details right up until it was almost time for us to show up and load in. Were sorry that the production people felt slighted by us, however at our gig the previous night, we were still unsure if they were officially hired for the event, and only found out just before going to bed the night before, which was one of many details that had still been left unconfirmed - another of which was also a bar that had been originally promised by the promoter (not the venue) and was now being changed to BYOB for an EXTRA donation from the fans, who were already paying lots of money to see what was to us - a disorganized event that wasnt worth the risk. This was a very difficult decision, that had some unfortunate effects on people we did not intend to hurt or offend, and to those people - we are truly sorry. Even the engineer who has been leading the charge against us on Facebook and claiming that we are unprofessional and essentially attacking our character - we know that he, like a few others out there are just under informed, and we hope that one day hell understand that we are a band who loves playing music, and cares about our fans and putting on a good show more than anything else. Thank you to all for reading this, and hopefully understanding our point of view a little more. To all who didnt get to see us last night - we look forward to making it up to you in some way or another (feel free to message us), and we sincerely hope to see you at one of our shows as soon as possible! Then we can have some fun, and enjoy a future of good music and great memories together. Love, Turkuaz
