Hey everyone! So we are proud to say that Bitcamp had around 18% female Bitcampers and 15% female mentors and sponsors. From what we understand, the normal hackathon average female participation is around 7-10%. Moreover, we made sure that 50% of our guest judges were women and that we engaged local nonprofits focused on female developers. We compiled some more detailed feedback in our Bitcamp 2014 Public Report (below). We tried to implement the things that Tess Rinearson, Taylor Barnett, and other awesome women were saying at HackCon. Hopefully we can get that percentage up even more next year!
