Hey everyone! The group Im with is planning a bit of a festival day down at the port loop in Timaru on Saturday the 22nd of November just to celebrate Timaru and to get some good old community spirit fired up! Were trying to organize lots of games, activities and attractions, such as tug-o-war, buskers, stalls etc, however there are a few things that wed love to do but havent yet been able to organize, and its these things that I thought I just give a shout out to you guys to see if there was anyone on this page that could help out. Things we need help with: 1: Were wanting to have a massive as water fight down in the port loop, and weve got water bombs, but were struggling to get/find/buy water pistols, rifles, etc. If anyone one on here has anything like that, that you wouldnt mind letting us borrow for the day, thatd be really awesome! :) 2: wed really like to set up a stage for buskers to perform on, and what we thought would be awesome is getting 6-8 hay bails put against each other and putting some plywood sheets down on top to make a stage. 3: wed really like to put together a mud-wrestling pit built, no idea how, so if anyone had any ideas, thatd be awesome :) 4: on the following day (Sunday the 23rd) were wanting to have a sand castle building competition down at Caroline Bay, and we need spades and shoves, about 30 of them! so if anyone would be willing to lend us some for the day, thatd be epic! We understand that all this may be a bit much to ask, but were wanting to do this for timaru for timaru locals and guests :) Timaru doesnt have enough pointless-fun-days to just sit back, enjoy our city and get involved in our wider community. We want to make this a (free entry) yearly event that we can use to just say Timaru is the most awesome place to live, work and enjoy! Thanks in advance :)
