Hey everyone! With the new dog park getting underway soon we wanted some public input! There will be an area at the new dog park for one on one training, play zone, etc. This will be great for dogs with social issues or to get some training time in, etc. While this area will be a fantastic addition we are wondering if we should take it a step further......to have it bookable using an online calendar system. The purpose of this would be to avoid continued frustration with anyone wanting to use that section, packing their dog(s) up, only to find the section already in use......so basically a wasted trip. This would not exclude anyone wanting to use the area if no one is in it though, however, if you are using the section without an appointment and someone shows up with an allotted time slot, you would have to leave that section. A rules sign would be posted and a public calendar link for all to access on their phones/tablets/computers. We are proposing this idea to you all of you who use the current park. All feedback is welcome. I think this would be an amazing area to have and the first of its kind for a public dog park. Weve all seen and heard about enough incidents at the dog park to know that not all dogs do well with a large group, but with a separate area such as this, small playdates could be made with compatible dogs, training sessions could be done in a safe environment and of course apartment doggies who want a ball throwing, stick fetching, romping good time without anyone stealing their toy! We look forward to hearing everyones thoughts over the coming week and if there is enough interest to pursue this, we will submit a proposal to Kettle Creek with our ideas and guidelines.
