Hey everyone, that post about the Facebook Messenger App - TopicsExpress

Hey everyone, that post about the Facebook Messenger App permissions is a bunch of fear-mongering, clickbaity, drivel written by a tech savvy writer. The technical description of a tech savvy writer is a bleeding moron who doesnt know his nose from a pencil. Suffice it to say the permissions required by the Facebook Messenger App are not uncommon, nothing to be particularly concerned about, and probably not much different than your Facebook, Google+, or Twitter apps permissions you already have installed. App permission models on Android and iOS are pretty broad and to do something as simple as let you make a phone call from within the app requires the app developer to request the Make calls and send texts at any time permission. Sounds really scary but thats because a single permission is used for multiple, related tasks even if the app doesnt take full advantage. If youre wary of Facebook for privacy reasons theres a simple solution: dont install the app. But dont get bent out of shape because of the permissions its requesting. Its not a conspiracy - its a doofus with a keyboard who has no idea how mobile app development works.
