Hey everyone this is Chip. Chip was rescued by the Friends of Burley Animal Rescue/PAWS when his owner was considering euthanasia due to not having a enough time to care for Chips special needs. Please no negative/rude comments...lets just try to help Chip. Chip needs a foster home, or even better, an adoptor that can care for his special needs. He was originally diagnosed with a slipped disc in his back, and surgery was an option...over a month ago. In our experience, when so much time has passed since the time of injury, surgery is probably not an option anymore. He will be evaluated by a vet and Friends of Burley is handling this as part of his initial care and at that time we will know more about surgical options. If we can find a foster home that is able to care for Chips needs (bladder expressing, wound care, etc.) for as long as he needs while awaiting his forever home...we can bring him to Heaths Haven. Unfortunately, we are at our absolute max for animals that we can care for at the facility so we have to have a foster home that can take him for however long he needs.
