Hey everyone, this is a little long but pls read it through and SHARE IT. Recently after lunch at a pizza place called Crust in Maadi, I stumbled upon a small carpenters workshop down the road that makes and sells beautiful mashrabeya furnishings and accessories for reasonable prices. Apparently this tiny workshop belongs to the same family who USED to own a similar but much bigger workshop on road 9. They were basically FORCED out of road 9 to be replaced by one of the already in excess international coffee shop chains! Theyre obviously not doing very well on the business front in this location so I just thought I would spread the word and Im sure many of you would love to buy authentic Egyptian arabesque furniture (or even have a custom piece made out of a magazine) and support a local craftsman simultaneously! It would be sad to see him go out of business especially that this craft is slowly dying out. His name is Haytham Adel. He doesnt only specialize in arabesque/mashrabiya furniture but is a very good carpenter in general. Many have actually been wondering why his shop disappeared from road 9 and where it is now. Thanks and please SHARE! (Oh and I forgot to mention that hes a very nice guy!)
