Hey everyone, with school back in session as of Monday, our focus shifts from rallies, to continued direct activism in the form of advocating for public education. With this in mind, Im suggesting a name change for this group. To what, I dont know. I leave it up to you. But Im thinking that since were all going to be back in school, and since the deal does very little to address the serious concerns of class size and composition, this fight is long from over. The best thing to come out of this entire debacle is that people are now talking and informing and educating themselves around the problems with public education in our province. This is huge, and I hope to continue informing people of all of these issues through this group. As the group was dedicated to rallies in BC for public education, I believe we need to re-focus and re-direct our energy somewhere else now that school is back in session. Please post your thoughts and suggestions for a name change, and well go from there. Good luck to all my colleagues setting up their classes today, and I look forward to hearing all your stories and continued activism as we continue to fight for improvements in public education.
