Hey facebook friends. Just wanted to say I got a call today from a scammer. He said that he was from Windows and that my Windows 7 system is set up to send notifications to windows of problems with my computer. They got one that showed my computer was infected with malicious software and that they are calling due to the fact its causing problems. Anyways they wanted to verify the computer and gave me a long ass number to verify it and I was getting very leary as I was writing this number down. Anyways I got their phone number and googled it when they called and it came up with quite a few forums where people were saying about this call and they ranged from this computer thing to paypal, to credit cards, to warrants on you and you need to pay immediately, to social security issues, to locksmith stuff you name it. So if anyone gets a call from these numbers its a scam. I have 2 numbers as I asked for a call back number. Also one post said it was a magic jack number as well. 210-526-6628 Was the number that came up on Caller ID from Texas 786-220-3237 was the number the guy gave me on the phone both numbers I searched and both came up with the same stuff. So be weary Just see so many people get scammed over this stuff so wanted to put the word out as they tried but failed on me... I chose to block these numbers with my comcast phone as from the posts I read they said they keep calling back over and over with different stuff trying to scam ya so at least now they wont be able to call unless they use another number. But they were INDIAN with a really thick accent and very hard to understand.
