Hey folks, by all means, please share any sub24 (or thereabout) hikes that you go on! Feel free to post photos, gearlists, trip reports, and such! I love going on sub24hikes so that I can put to test gear that I have bought and am thinking about incorporating into my full time gear setup. Gear shakedown at its best. Later this week I will be hiking a new section of the California Coastal Trail I have not hiked yet. Simple two hour drive from my house to the trailhead. Might get in 4 miles, or I might get in 8 or 9 miles (each direction) no idea, and does not really matter. Sub24hikes are, for me, a time to have some fun. More and more when I go out hiking I look forward to the four Ws: Wet, Windy, Wild, Warm. Looks like I will be getting at least three of those four on this trip. (and yes, it can be raining and windy and be warm!) Having a massive rain river pass through the region, with winds in the 35+mph range, and its going to be wild country!! They are saying the temps should be around 45° but given that it will be ocean hiking/camping, with wind and rain, guessing it will be low 40s maybe high 30s. Gotta be a bit warmer than that for me to call it a warm hike... another 15°(f) would be nice. Will post photos/video once I get back.
