Hey friends. Im completely self taught. I mean completely. I first picked up the instrument in January of 2007. This video gives a pretty good glimpse of my left and right hand technique, since its pretty close up. I have never been able to do a one finger per fret method with my left hand, ever, so I slide around a lot, and I find benefit in using flatwound and/or tapewound strings (which Im using here---black nylon tapewound). As for my right hand, I generally mute with my ring finger and pinky and pluck with my index and middle fingers, kind of in a let your fingers do the walking through the Yellow Pages kind of way, if you remember those old commercials!
