Hey friends & family... Just to update you on my health situation. God apparently had some change of plans for me. Got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon after being in there for 9 days... Ughhh... Talk about having cabin fever. Originally doctors said I would need the remaining 4 toes to be amputated but after further review and consulting with my foot doctors, my hospital doctors, and my infectious disease doctors (because I have a low grade MERSA in my foot now) they decided that the infection had spread to the bone above my ankle and I would have to have the amputation all the way up to just before my knee. Of course after getting over the initial shock, a lot of crying and a bunch of praying, me & Kyle decided it was the best option because that would stop the infection. Well that was all agreed to by me Kyle and the doctors....then in comes another infectious disease doctor who says he would like to first try me on a system of antibiotics for 3 months before going forward with the amputation. Unfortunately the medication is very expensive (around $700 for the 3 month supply)..okay we cant afford that... So the doctor says let me check into a few options available for assistance. Well within a couple of hours God took care of the issue and financial assistance was found to pay for it. We only have to pay for the other antibiotic which is around $60 a month. Praise God!! So.... Here I am waiting the next 3 months to see if this course works. Doctor said we may still have to do the amputation but we can at least try a lesser evasive procedure and try to save my foot and leg. I am under UT wound Care to watch and do biopsy care for the next 3 months. Keep praying for me & Kyle. Long stretch ahead for us. I wish I were going to the island... Haha.. Its my happy place
