Hey friends for clarification I wanted to share a couple of things. I made a post yesterday and then left the computer to get some things accomplished and to get Alison to Columbia. A good friend who I disagree with often in the political arena asked me why I did not speak up when it got ugly and some mentioned a couple of things that this person knew I supported? I told them I was no where near a computer, as I refuse to do FB on my phone. God, I spend too much time messing with it when Im at my laptop. I want to share two things but NOT start a P@#$% match between my friends. Number one: Because of a technicality with my tenure with the state, ( 2 months short of tenure, even though I had thirty years over 2 stints). Therefore, I lost my insurance coverage. I was topsy turvey last year with health issues (still am) and my only avenue for health insurance was The Affordable Care Act. Please dont start a fight over that on my page. I will let you know real quick it saved my life and also helped many more friends get insured for the first time ever. I am also able to insure my son whos in college. I know all of the issues good and bad, but I do know for me I could not afford my insurance, much less my medications, if not for the ACA. If you want to solve issues with the insurance/ medical community, get lawyers and accountants out of the field. With insurance costs and high deductables I pay plenty and more than I did. But, until congress and others feel the pain, ours will be a broken system. Point # 2. I supported the grand Juries decision in Ferguson, Daren Wilson was attacked and should have been able to defend himself. In the New York case, I think people should learn to not resist arrest. Period. However, the choke hold should never be used and those cops should have not used it. There are tazers, and other means to bring someone down. I do not support the Grand Juries decision in this case. I like to think I can be objective regardless of the issues. I watch so many of my left leaning friends lean left regardless of the issues. I see the same on the right. That is what bothers me.
