Hey friends outside of Vienna, consistently voted as the worlds coolest city to live in...a little gossip for you. 1700 policemen, some in riot gear, helicopters, a tank, a sort of spray that is translated as butyric acid, chainsaws, water canons, and all sorts of police vehicles descended upon an abandoned building that has approx 40 squatters in it in Viennas second district, historically known for many things but mostly for being the place where Kristallnacht happened in November 1938, this morning. The police wanted a press black-out but the press was like, ha. SEVENTEEN HUNDRED POLICE PEOPLE for at the most 40 squatters. Theres been other things happening in Austria that raises eyebrows with regards to police waaaay OTT/corrupt/downright criminal stuff... today was like, THIS IS WHAT I PAY MY ENORMOUSLY HIGH TAXES FOR? No. 1700 policemen and women. Really? Last week, a soccer game where an Israeli team played against a Tyrolian (Tyrol is a province of Austria) team in Tyrol, people attacked the Israeli team and the police said they didnt have the manpower to protect the Israeli team. A whole bunch of people have been arrested and Im not sure whats happening now cause I just cant anymore. What a bunch of unbelievable bullshit especially in times like these where its about life and death in other parts of the world and a display of civility in a dumb-ass house-squatting dispute would be the honourable and respectful thing to do... The house that was being squatted used to have a pizzeria in it so the squatters called themselves Pizzeria Anarchy. This stuff writes itself. Their slogan is Pizza bleibt which translates as Pizza stays... Just a little gossip for ya...
