Hey gang, its Jessica 😊 After another evening in the ER (which proved to be the most excruciating experience of my life) and another hospital admission we have a almost have a diagnosis... Lyme Meningitis, so basically The disease has been attacking my spinal fluid and the fluid around my brain + throwing off all of these other aches pains and spasms. Untreated it can of course be very dangerous. We figured out that a bite I had about 5 weeks ago (during a beautiful outdoor Frances Slocum session) was in fact a tick bite. Lehigh had dismissed it as an option and stuck with the unexplained migraine. So thats the story and we are hoping for the spinal tap and blood work to be back tomorrow but the doctors here are very convinced its the right diagnosis. Last night the spasms from the inflammation in the fluids around my brain and spine took over, and lets just say I hope to never experience pain like that again. Around 4am they were finally able to get my meds safely adjusted for the baby, and to keep me from feeling like a tortured prisoner to my own body. Simple things like breathing, swallowing, and talking will never be taken for granted again. At this point they are just controlling the pain, and other symptoms as best they can, filling me with fluids, monitoring the baby, and treating the Lyme disease with heavy IV antibiotics. No word on how long Ill be here. As I know more I will certainly let you guys know, and again I thank you all a million times over from the very bottom of my heart for your support, and your patience through whats been a very painful and scary 24 days 💗
