Hey greasy gals! Hope everybodys staying warm and safe out there in the snow these days. Im working on a post for streets.mn and looking for examples from you of good bicycle infrastructure in the Twin Cities that winds up being negated in the winter because of poor maintenance. For example, theres a great push button crossing for Cedar Ave at 40th St S in Minneapolis that is a bikes/ped only crossing. I love that infrastructure! But the plowing people neglect to plow the bike path and plow the car path it in such a way that there is always a giant lip of snow blocking the bike crossing path. Today I came up to the push button and found a pile of ice chunks blocking my path so just had to scoot across. Great infrastructure negated by crappy maintenance. So! What are the ones you run across? What awesome bike infrastructure gets neglected in the winter? Share your stories/thoughts/frustrations/examples! Thank you!
