Hey guys- A few days ago, filmmaker Nicole Day posted a Kickstarter campaign for her new documentary about the state of improv in the US. I pledged to support this film because we are in a golden age for improv in the popular comedic landscape, especially long-form, and its important that we document it for future comedy nerds and students. Two decades ago, most comedians on TV and in film came from the stand up and acting world. Now, its all improv. At the BAMCinemafest in Brooklyn two weeks ago, I witnessed every single director get asked about improv in their films (which was considered almost insulting in a pre-Apatow world). Im also supporting Day because there is an incredible deficit of women filmmakers, directors and documentarians putting their stories and perspectives on screen. For $25, as much as you would pay for a popcorn and diet soda raddled evening at the cinema, you can help her document your world. So go ahead and think about it. Thanks, NB
