Hey guys! A study I read recently explains that volunteer experiences are one of the top 10 traits companies look for when hiring college graduates. With that being said, here are two upcoming opportunities to gain these experiences as well as give back to our local Vietnamese communities. 1.) Viet Nam Scholarship Foundation: The VNSF is a non-profit organization that is ran 100% by volunteers. This means that VNSF is able to maximize the amount donations that goes directly to program services. The foundation enables underprivileged students in Viet Nam to achieve success and happiness through education. The foundation is hosting a benefit dinner to fundraise money for their cause. They are looking for servers to help during the event. Details are as follows. Where: Mercer Island Community Center When: Friday, September 19th, 2:30PM - 10PM Contact: Hong Ha Hoang ([email protected]) 2.) Helping Link Gala: For the past 21 years, Helping Link has been serving the Vietnamese-American community by providing educational resources and classes to the local Vietnamese families. Helping Link is hosting a their annual gala to raise money to support their organization and further their mission to empower Vietnamese-Americans social adjustment, family stability, and self-sufficiency. Helping Link is looking for volunteers to help serve at the gala. Details pertaining to the event are listed below. Where: Mercer Island Community Center When: Sunday, September 28, 5:30PM - 8:30PM Contact: Kevin Ly ([email protected]) If you are interested in helping at either on of these events, please reach out to the contact listed. Hope you guys are able to make it to either one or both of these events. Thank you!
