Hey guys! I finally got the courage to share a project that was in the works for many months... I made this piece for a project Im working on with a friend of mine and Dr. Willy Makundi (Nobel Peace Prize, 2007) for a project known as KBEVA Tanzania Project (I cant find our website right now, but if I do, Ill update with it). Were aiming to create an academy in Tanzania to help educate the local children. I am the Creative Director, and my part was to take my friends photography of Tanzania, turn it into art, print it onto fabric, and create a dress to auction off for our cause. It took hundreds of long hours to create this piece and Im so happy with how it came out. I was overjoyed with how much we were able to raise from this piece and put towards our project. It features a fully shirred back, a waist sash, and a tea-length skirt. The dress is handmade, print and all, by me, the blouse is from Chess Story, the clip and tights are from R-Series, and the shoes are from Colorful Shoes. The print was made in Photoshop and Illustrator and the fabric was printed by Spoonflower (its their Silk Crepe de Chine). Im really excited to share this with all of you. If you have any questions about this piece I am happy to answer them. Thanks so much for looking!
