Hey guys, I know its exams crunch time and everyone is stu(dying) hard, but if you guys can take just an hour or two out of your schedule to come out tonight to the RAPS meeting, I promise you itll be worthwhile. As you may or may not know, tonight is out UniPro forum. No, its not a really a learn about UniPro meeting or anything like that. No one is trying to market anything to you in this meeting. Tonight is a dialogue. Kind of like how a workshop at FIND this weekend will be. This means that its going to be an OPEN DISCUSSION in which our wonderful UniPro rep coming (TK, former RAPS pres 2k12) is going to inform us about some really important Filipino issues and were all going to really have this opportunity to talk about it together and really understand fully whats going on, how we feel about it, and what we can do in response. Honestly, theres a terrible stigma in every organization about educational/cultural meetings. Ugh so boring. Oh were not even doing something fun. Well I just want to go to hang out and talk to people I cant do that during a lecture meeting. I dont care. No, man! That whole mindset is totally off! To be honest, these kinds of meetings are my FAVORITE meetings. Why? Because its in these meetings where we all REALLY get to talk and learn things about each other and really bond. And bond over something with meaning. In reality, these meetings are the most social meetings available and the best way to connect with friends and become part of an organization. We learn. We learn about important issues that our generation is facing today. We learn about how much this effects us and those around us, whether we were aware of it before or not. We learn about how our friends feel and that hey, they are going through/went through some of the things i am/did! We learn that together, we can have an impact on our generation and culture and that together we can push forward for our people. And this goes for not just Filipinos, but for everyone of all cultures. So I really, really encourage you all to think about these things and really open your eyes to see that by coming to these informative meetings, you are making a move that brings awareness to yourself and others and helps our people to push forward for a brighter and better future.
