Hey guys! I mostly try to avoid posting articles on my page, but I feel this is sort of relevant. I much prefer doing the research for you: reading opposing point of views, digging into the facts, and checking sources for authenticity (I spend a TON of time researching), but I think this particular article could shed some light on some of your struggles - I know Ive struggled with this issue personally! So that being said, lets take a moment to address this issue of under-eating. I see this more than you think! And I myself am guilty of long-term calorie deficit. Why? Because clean foods are often low in calories! And with my job, I expend A LOT of calories throughout the day. Plus, Im a snacker. Id rather graze than sit down to a meal. Can you relate? Long term calorie deficit can wreak HAVOC on the metabolism, and hormonal balance. Plus, it can actually make weight loss more difficult! This article isnt meant to address those people who try to starve themselves into results, rather it is referring to those of us who eat so healthy, we wind up undernourished! So let this be a reminder that our bodies REQUIRE a certain amount of energy to function properly. And food supports our entire system - not just weight gain/loss. So double check your calorie intake vs expenditure. Are you eating enough to support a healthy and thriving body? If not, adjust your diet so that you are bulking your meals with *quality* additions. I love adding avocado to salads to keep my intake up! Also, a tablespoon of almond butter in my applesauce is amazing :) Each person is unique as to how many calories he or she needs throughout the day - so find YOUR healthy range, and try to stay nourished! oxygenmag.au/Nutrition/tabid/620/entryid/1458/YOUR-EAT-MORE-TO-STAY-FIT-FOR-LIFE-PLAN.aspx
