Hey guys... This is your (sometimes) favorite announcer Dell Cobb. Sadly, what Im announcing today is my retirement from HWY 84 Motorsports for the time being. Before any rumors get started or things get said, I want to clear the air on whats up. My day job with the railroad is running me to death right now which doesnt leave me the time I need to devote proper time to the track. Also, my family and home time is much less than Id like it to be, so I need to keep my priorities straight on the homefront. The 12 hour round trips every 2 weeks for the last several years have taken their toll, and I just need a break while I give some other aspects of my life and some health issues some much needed attention. Not to worry for you guys though, because its business as usual at 84. Im just one monkey in the circus... And one monkey dont stop no show. Ron and the rest of the team will continue doing their best to keep 84 as the best place around for you guys, and theres some really cool stuff just around the corner. Im not sure whos gonna be taking over for me yet, but I hope and pray that you will show them the same openness and friendship that youve all shown me over the last few years. The part Ill miss most about 84 will be my various interactions with you guys both on here and around the track. I deeply value the times Ive spent with all of you, and Im gonna miss you all. Ive gained some really great friends in my time here, and have met some of the most awesome folks on the planet. To all of the drivers: Ill miss calling out your victories, and I wish you all lots of trophies and $ for the rest of your racing careers. To the spectators: Thank you all for your support over the years, and I appreciate yall putting up with my endless rambling over the microphone and long winded posts on here. I rarely get things thrown at me in the tower, so Ill assume I dont make yall too mad. Lol... To ALL of the drivers and spectators... THANK YOU! A racetrack has many working parts, and you guys are the heart of it. Without racers, theres not much show for the spectators. Without spectators, we cant pay out the racers, or pay the bills. I appreciate each and every one of you that has supported the track in my time here. Without yall, there is no 84. After tonight (with the exception of some occasional interjections and pictures from Saturday that I havent posted yet), Ill be turning this page over to Ron. You guys try to be easy on him though, because hes kinda new to the internets. Lol... Anyhow, thank you all once again for your continued support of Ron and the rest of the gang at 84, and I look forward to seeing you guys occasionally when I can make it up to visit. In the meantime, feel free to say hello to me in my personal inbox. Plus, you never know when I may get things worked out where I can annoy all of you on a regular basis once again! Its been a heck of a ride, folks. Not always easy, but I wouldnt trade my time with all of you at 84 for anything in the world. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
