Hey guys , does the starter fire when the solenoid is activated or does the starter fire when the solenoid has pushed the starter gear across to the ring gear on the hub..the story is I pulled of my primary and clutch to clean up and add a clutch hub retainer..put it all back together , now the solenoid fires but the starter wont..yet I didnt even touch the starter or solenoid when I did the job...it will start if I hit the start button and connect a wire strait from my battery to the terminal on the starter, so im thinking that maybe the solenoid isnt throwing the gear out far enough to engage the starter but I dont know cause I dont know when the starter actually fires up??....TFTA
