Hey guys, on Saturday morning I experienced a live stop tow of my scooter for expired registration! Has this ever happened to you? I was riding my little 49cc Honda Metropolitan home when I was pulled over by not one, but two police cars on 11th and Chestnut. They wouldnt tell me what the trouble was for about half an hour while I waited outside in the freezing wind. One officer approached me and coldly notified me that my scooter was being taken. 20 minutes later, a PPA tow truck comes and takes my scooter away to the impound lot. I of course realize that the expired registration is my fault, but doesnt this seem like a totally disproportionate response? The live stop towing is already controversial when it comes to cars, but towing a scooter seems downright cruel.
