Hey hey Bernard Hill and I finally made it to anchorage, Alaska - TopicsExpress

Hey hey Bernard Hill and I finally made it to anchorage, Alaska after our 5 day travel adventure. Traveling through the US was pretty boring except for the horrible tornado like weather in Arkansas, it was so bad that I had to pull off the side of the road. Enterinv Canada was exciting and buying gas in liters rather than gallons was interesting. Ouur first night we camped in Edmonton and everything was fine until the next morning when I checked my account. To my surprisre I discovered that each gas stop puts a $100 hold on top of the gas amount. So then I just paid cash for each fill-up which was great until I reached the Alaska/Canada Highway (AlCan) where the prices jump up dramatically some stops I was paying $1.75 per liter ... with 4 liters per gallon yeah it wasnt pretty. The AlCan is pretty much a motrist version of the Appalacian trail. To make up time we pretty much drove strajight thru the highway. In our travels we saw eagles, wild horses, a beaver, several buffalo herds, and a moose that barely got away with his life as we botb surprised each other and I was like hittj g the breaks like crazy. So glad we drove it was truly an experience of a lifetime!
