Hey, its TBT. It was 1960. I was 8 years old, and had more-or-less learned to walk after being born with two club feet. I still fell a lot and got made fun of a lot. And the Olympics were on TV with live coverage, not only a first for me, but for TV. And the sound bite of the Rome Olympics was Wilma Rudolph -- not only as poor as we were, but with polio as a child, winning gold medals. And I told myself that if Wilma Rudolph could run in the Olympics, Id know Id escaped my personal tragedies when I went to them. In 1980 I went to the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. It was wonderful, but the dream hadnt been fulfilled. In 1996, I drove from Durham to Atlanta, and just sat in the dark and watched the Olympic flame before I began my week of Olympic events. And in between the two I went to Wimbledon to watch the best of Womens Tennis -- Martina and Chris, the match of two decades. And thats why I have no bucket list. Ive done it all! https://youtube/watch?v=RLmn7MsDhHU
