Hey kids! Here are the recipes from Batch 272 MST! Hopefully once the new website is up, well have a more centralized recipe/cooking area where recipes and tips can be added throughout the batches :) Stovetop Chocolate Cookies 2/14 c flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 sticks unsalted butter ¾ c granulated sugar ¾ c brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 eggs 2 c chocolate Water for cooking Mix all dry ingredients and set aside. Blend butter and sugars then add vanilla and eggs. Combine dry ingredients to wet. Add chocolate chips and anything else youd like to add. [and cookie recipe can be used] Grease pan on preheated (low heat) stove. Cook cookies covered for ~10 minutes or until cookie-like consistency and enjoy :) Sweet Potato Roti ½ Kilo Sweet Potatoes – peeled, cooked and mashed 1 ½ c whole wheat flour ½ c unbleached flour 2/3 tsp. cumin Few pinches of dried red chili flakes ½ tsp. sea salt 2 TBS oil ¼ c hot water Mix the sweet potatoes, flour, cumin, red chili flakes, salt and oil together. Add in water slowly. Knead the dough for several minutes. Divide into 16 – 20 balls. Keep covered. Roll out and cook in a dry skillet (do not put any oil into the skillet). Homemade Dill Pickles Ingredients: 1 Cucumber 2 Onions 3-4 Gloves Garlic Sili to taste 2c Vinegar 2TBS Salt Fresh dill or dried Instructions: Wash the cucumber, sili, carrot, and okra thoroughly. Slice cucumbers 0.5cm-1.0cm thin. Crack ½ garlic head, peel, and mince. Peel and slice the onion in rings. Split 1-2 sili in half long ways and deseed. Fill the jar half way with vinegar, add 1 TBSP salt, and mix. Then fill the jar with cucumber slices adding in dill, onion, and garlic as you go. Stuff sili slices in to taste. Top off with vinegar. Seal and shake. Let pickles sit for 3 to 48 hours. (14 days if refrigerated) Repeat with carrots and okra as substitutes for the cucumber (P.S. if you cut the okra, itll get the contents of the jar slimy like okra does)
