Hey ladies, thanks for contributing to this week’s round of #FixitFriday The reason for an increase in hunger during your menstrual cycle is simple. Your body uses more calories right before and in some cases during your period. This increase in calories makes your body burn more calories during this time, and as the calories as burning you’re going to feel hungry more often. Calories are units of energy, you can think of them as little gallons of fuel. Just as a car runs on fuel, your body runs on calories. Also during your period, the hormones at work in your body during this time are also likely to make you crave particular food items such as chocolate, chips and other sugary foods. To keep your body in check, snack on healthier foods such as fruits and vegetables.
