Hey there Greater Victoria classmates, I had the opportunity - TopicsExpress

Hey there Greater Victoria classmates, I had the opportunity to meet with Mark Salter of the Songhees Nation last week and take a tour of the new Songhees Wellness Center in View Royal/Esquimalt that opened up last January. I was able to briefly learn about their nation’s history, view artwork, and see the different areas of the center (daycare, administration, health offices, etc). Mark wanted me to provide his contact info to other classmates in case they wish to also sign up for a tour. Tours currently take place on the first Friday of every month. Mark Salter Convention Manager 250-386-4161 mark.salter@songheesnation Mark also stated that he might be able to put me in contact with the centre’s on-site Indigenous mental health and social workers for an informational visit if I am able to get a small group together. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I will be in touch. Cheers, Scott Mackay
