Hey there, guys....if I may get a couple moments with the moderators blessings, Im glad to be a part of this group, and asking for your help on a particular project Ive worked on. One of the big reasons a lot of us got into AM radio is the fact weve enjoyed some great music over the years. And many of us have a favorite local DJ that helped bring about those memories, with a few going on to national status as well. One of those Ive referring to is one of my heroes, legendary DJ and voiceover, the recently departed Casey Kasem. A couple of the FB groups Ive been in that loved Caseys work with his countdown, American Top 40, have wanted to see about getting Casey some final respects, particularly from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (since a couple of DJs have been honored as such by the Hall). Ive taken the lead by sending the Hall a nomination letter, as well as posting a petition on Change.org. IF youre all right in helping out our efforts, whether a radio fan, music fan, or Casey fan in any way, please check out the link, and pass on the word, wherever you can. Ive admitted it may be a long process, but Im not interested in numbers, just making sure its signed by enough folk (including those whove been in music and/or broadcasting) to let the Hall know that were serious about this, and that Casey Kasem DESERVES this honor for his work in radio, broadcasting, TV, movies, voiceovers, charity work, all of it.
