Hey yall, as I sit, relaxing and having my mind bombarded with idea after idea, it finally occurred to me that our lives actually have a purpose. The purpose possibly is predestined, but it comes with a road map that you really cant follow. You kinda have to go with your gut on certain things. Ill use myself as an example. My brother is 511 and was a much better athlete that I could ever have hoped to be. However, Im the one that is 69, 270 pounds and became a basketball player (for those that really know me knows that I absolutely hate sports...including basketball!). So, I played. I am an avid artist and love drawing. I did it a lot, as if I was on a mission. All of a sudden, nerve damage, shaky hand...art career is over. Writing was a hobby that turned into a passion. My mind wont turn off and I had books stacked in my mind just waiting for me to write them...to birth them. God was probably watching as I did the opposite. I can see Him saying, This guy right here! Jeez!!! He gave me a dose of depression (maybe a little too much though! lol) and said, This ought to get him going! Viola! 20 books later I continue to write. Cooking was my ultimate passion, but I still feel like this in not my purpose. Why? Funny you should ask! I am extremely good and natural at cooking. All of a sudden...BAM! Shoulder replacement! Cooking career has been stalled. Athletic Coordinator career has been stalled and working out has been stalled! See...He speaks...I listen! We all have a purpose in life and sometimes we must go through trials and tribulations to find out what our true purpose may be. It was said to me that without a test, there can be no testimony. I believe that. I may end up selling knives door to door, but if that is to my my calling, expect a knock at your door soon! We often have things that WE would like to do, but it has not been written in the master plan...better known as the Masters Plan! Youre never too old to start over. Youre never to old to become wealthy beyond your wildest imagination and we are never too old to take a leap of faith. I am being thrust in that very position as I speak into my Dragon translator. Yea, because I have difficulty typing, I let the Dragon program do it for me! Mama aint raise no fool! lol Know the difference between a gift and a hobby and know YOUR differences. A gift by the nature of the definition is made to be given away freely. A hobby is an activity done regularly in ones leisure time for pleasure. Huge difference, but both given by the creator and both predestined for us, you..to use. Cooking is my gift to everyone that enjoys good food. Am I destined to do it for the rest of my life? Stay tuned! This could easily become a hobby! This is my time to kick back and simply Be Still and hopefully figure out what it is that I am destined to do. You may want to reassess from time to time as well. Just because your doing it today does not mean that you are supposed to be doing it in 20 years! This is so random what I am about to say....lol....The next person that walks into 51 To Go and asks about the new book Man Whore I am going to have a copy waiting for you! This is a proof copy and it will be rare. There MAY be errors (maybe), but it will be yours. (And it bet not end up on Ebay!!! lol). Im only doing one and no, I cant hold it for you!
