Hey you! Come here and carry this cross! How would you like to be called over and compelled to carry someones cross. That is what happened to Simon of Cyrene (Matt 27:32; Mark 15:21;Luke 23:26). The Bible doesnt say Simon understood what exactly was going on. Maybe he came to town to watch the crucifixions, or he just came to town for business. Jesus was already severely beaten almost to death and tired, yet he had to complete what had to be done. I was noticing, when that happened Jesus did not say, Back off, I have this, its mine to complete! So a question comes to mind. If Jesus accepted help to accomplish what really needed to be done, why cant we do the same? Is pride getting in the way? God bless, David C.
