Hi - IF YOU COULD ASK GOD FOR ONE OF THE TWO CHOICES BELOW, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE? (1) a trillion dollars? or (2) The Holy Spirit? . (1) A TRILLION DOLLARS - $1,000,000,000,000 = If God gave you one trillion dollars in $100 dollar bills you would need a very large warehouse to store the money. You would have thousands of pallets of $100 dollar bills and would need a forklift to stack the pallets. . (2) THE HOLY SPIRIT . Which would you choose? Which is the greatest gift? Are you sure? Which one are you seeking the most? Are you seeking to be rich in dollars and houses and lands and businesses or are you seeking to be filled with God’s Holy Spirit? What is your goal in life? . THE GREATEST GIFT? . “The donation of THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS THE GREATEST GIFT God could bestow upon finite man. This is free to all and in this gift there could be no computation; this endowment specially signalized the enthronement of the only begotten Son of God in His mediatorial kingdom. In this, the gift of the Comforter, the Lord God of heaven demonstrates to man the perfect reconciliation which He had effected between Himself and men.” . ASK AND BELIEVE “Has not God said He would give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? And is not this Spirit a real, true, actual Guide? Some men seem afraid to take God at His word, as though it would be presumption in them. They pray for the Lord to teach us and yet are afraid to credit the pledged word of God and believe we have been taught of Him. So long as we come to our heavenly Father humbly and with a spirit to be taught, willing and anxious to learn, why should we doubt God’s fulfillment of His own promise? You must not for a moment doubt Him and dishonor Him thereby.” — Ye Shall Receive Power, page 114 . “When you have sought to know His will, your part in the operation with God is to believe that you will be led and guided and blessed in the doing of His will. We may mistrust ourselves lest we misinterpret His teachings, but make even this a subject of prayer, and trust Him, still trust Him to the uttermost, that His Holy Spirit will lead you to interpret aright His plans and the working of His providence.— Ye Shall Receive Power, page 114 . We are assured that the GREATEST GIFT that can be given to us will not be withheld. Christ says, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” But ask in faith, nothing doubting. It is because of unbelief that so many of our church members are weak. Christ said to Martha at the grave of Lazarus, “If thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God.” Christ Triumphant, page 54. . PERSEVERE IN KNOCKING – ASKING FERVENTLY AND EARNESTLY . THIS IS THE GREATEST BLESSING that can be bestowed upon God’s believing children. But many do not have the virtue of a living faith. They think they have faith, but it is only the thought or action of a moment. They do not persevere in knocking at the door and keeping their request before the lord. It is not a transient thought that is to be given to god. Our prayers are to be fervent and earnest as were the petitions of the needy friend who asked for the loaves at midnight. The more you ask, the firmer will be your spiritual union. You may come into that place where you will have increased blessings because you have increased faith.” Christ Triumphant, page 54. . It should be your object, in whatever vocation you may be found, to do your work in a manner that shall glorify God. All that you gain, you should look upon as capital to be invested in the bank of heaven. IT SHOULD BE YOUR JOY TO DEVOTE MEANS, AND TIME, AND ABILITY TO WIN SOULS FOR CHRIST, to send the light to those who sit in darkness. I plead for the souls that are perishing around us, for whom Christ has paid the ransom of his own precious blood. O that the baptism of the Holy Spirit may come upon us all, that we may have more to impart to others! Work, watch, and pray that we may each have the spirit of the true Christian. Let us place ourselves in the channel of light, and know for ourselves what it means to believe in Jesus. As yet there is only a feeble, partial faith in the hearts of the professed followers of Christ in the word of God; but we must learn what it means to live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Who of us has this faith? Who of us believes with the simplicity of a little child that we may come to god, through the name of Jesus, and ask for spiritual food, ASK FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE GREATEST GIFT THAT HEAVEN CAN BESTOW? Jesus has said, “If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give good things to them that ask him?” Should we ask in faith, the Lord would fulfil his word, and we should go forth weighted with the important truths for this time. We should then pass the time of our sojourning, not in trifling, but in sobriety, in earnest, determined effort, with much prayer, for the salvation of those who are ready to perish. We should be gathering sheaves for the Master, and would be fitted up for the heavenly benediction, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” The Youth Instructor 12/13/1894 . IF THE ONE WHO WROTE MUCH OF THE BIBLE WAS THE CHIEF OF SINNERS WHAT ABOUT ME? . THE APOSTLE PAUL CALLED HIMSELF THE CHIEF OF SINNERS. . “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15. Jesus says “If you love Me keep my commandments and He commands me and invites me to me to come and learn and yoke up with Him as a soul winner (Matthew 11:28-30) and He also commands me to go and teach others (Matthew 28:18-20). As the chief of sinners we need to daily and hourly ask for God’s Greatest Gift His Holy Spirit. . YOU DO NOT HAVE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT ASK. JAMES 4:2. . And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet BECAUSE OF HIS PERSISTENCE he will rise and give him as many as he needs. Luke 11:5-8 . ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU . “So I say to you, ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11: 9-13. . MY PRAYER FOR YOU AND ME . Father my greatest, our greatest need is for Your Holy Spirit. Im asking for Your Spirit to come into our hearts today - into my heart and the heart of each reader for You promised ask and it will be given and we claim this promise and may every reader pray with me for the outpouring of Your Holy Spirit for You promised that You are more willing to give us Your Spirit than for an earthly father to give food to his hungry children - we ask for Your Spirit for we are hungry and thirsty for Your living Power today- Use us as a light to bring hope and life to others in this dark world and bless Great Controversy Project and empower the readers to buy and distribute this Spirit Filled book by the hundreds of thousands that we might help others know what is happening and prepare for the final crisis and Your second coming in Jesus name, Amen. . HOW TO CONQUER SPIRITUAL DROUGHT, DARKNESS, DECLENSION AND DEATH! “The lapse of time has wrought no change in Christs parting promise to send the Holy Spirit as His representative. It is not because of any restriction on the part of God that the riches of His grace do not flow earthward to men. If the fulfillment of the promise is not seen as it might be, it is because the promise is not appreciated as it should be. If all were willing, all would be filled with the Spirit. Wherever the need of the Holy Spirit is a matter little thought of, there is seen spiritual Drought, spiritual Darkness, spiritual Declension and Death. Whenever minor matters occupy the attention, the divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in infinite plenitude. “ {ACTS OF THE APOSTLES, PAGE 50} . HUNGER, THIRST, TALK, PRAY, AND PREACH FOR THE GIFT OF THE SPIRIT . “Since this is the means by which we are to receive power, why do we not Hunger and Thirst for the Gift of the Spirit? Why do we not Talk of it, Pray for it, and Preach concerning it? The Lord is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to those who serve Him than parents are to give good gifts to their children. For the daily baptism of the Spirit every worker should offer his petition to God. Companies of Christian workers should gather to ask for special help, for heavenly wisdom, that they may know how to plan and execute wisely. Especially should they pray that God will baptize His chosen ambassadors in mission fields with a rich measure of His Spirit. The presence of the Spirit with Gods workers will give the proclamation of truth a power that not all the honor or glory of the world could give.” {AA 50.2} Father give us a constant hunger and thirst and asking with “Persistence” (Luke 11:8) for Your GREATEST GIFT, YOUR HOLY SPIRIT – Help us to see things as they really are and our constant need of Your Holy Spirit for You promised “ask and it will be given.” Help us never tire of asking and believing and seeking that we might obey Your call for us to “Be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:19. . Read Christ’s parable about the church today, the church that exist just before He comes again. (Matthew 25:1-13) . JESUS TELLS US THAT HIS CHURCH, TODAY IS FILLED WITH A COMBINATION OF “WISE” PEOPLE AND “FOOLISH” PEOPLE. We all want to be thought of as “WISE” people but God tells us that His last church who are expecting the “bridegroom” to come is composed of some who will be lost “foolish” and some who will live forever “wise.” No one will claim to be foolish and lost. . WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE “FOOLISH” (WHO WILL BE LOST) AND THE “WISE” (WHO WILL BE SAVED) – WHO BOTH ATTEND THE SAME CHURCH? THE ANSWER IS IN CHRISTS PARABLE IN MATTHEW 25:1-13 He said “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins (Professed Christians with a ‘pure faith’) who took their lamps (their Bibles) and went out to meet the bridegroom (Jesus). Now five of them were WISE, and five were FOOLISH. (The foolish didn’t know they were foolish).Those who were foolish took their lamps (their Bibles) and took no oil (they did not ask for the Holy Spirit) with them, but the wise took oil (they asked for the Holy Spirit) in their vessels with their lamps (their Bibles). But while the bridegroom (Jesus) delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom (Jesus) is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins (Christians with a pure faith expecting Jesus to come) arose and trimmed their lamps (their Bibles). And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps (they found out they didn’t know their Bibles) are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom (Jesus) came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; (in New Jerusalm) and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins (those Christians who had a pure faith but never realized their need of the Holy Spirit and Bible Study) came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I DO NOT KNOW YOU.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” Matthew 25:1-13. Jesus tells us that there are many within the church today who are “lukewarm.” They feel ‘rich, wealthy, and have need of nothing’ Revelation 3:17. They do not know their need to pray like David who cried out “Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.” Psalm 4:1 Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am weak; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled. Psalm 6:2 He prayed this type of prayer over and over many times – such as Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!” Psalm 9:13; 25:16; 30:10. They do not pray like David in Psalms or Blind Bartimaeus who cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. Mark 10:46-52 They do not pray like the Gentile woman prayed “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! “Lord, help me!” She asked several times and Jesus said “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” Matthew 15:22-28 The foolish do not recognize their great need. They do not pray like “Blind Bartimaeus, who began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. Luke 18:35-43. You still need to pray like David in the book of Psalms – You still need to pray like the woman of Canaan who kept on asking They do not pray like the Centurion who said “I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” Luke 7:6-9. The Centurion depended on Christ’s Word. He knew the power was in Christ’s word. This we also must learn if we want the success the Centurion found. Learn Christ’s Promises and depend on His word – When you pray claim His promises and know that the gift of His Spirit is in the promise and if you claim the promise when you ask you will receive the gift of His Spirit to give you victory over every wrong word and action. And give you the ability to reach others for everlasting life. . “So with all the promises of Gods word. In them He is speaking to us individually, speaking as directly as if we could listen to His voice. It is in these promises that Christ communicates to us His grace and power. They are leaves from that tree which is ‘for the healing of the nations.’ Revelation 22:2. Received, assimilated, they are to be the strength of the character, the inspiration and sustenance of the life. Nothing else can have such healing power. Nothing besides can impart the courage and faith which give vital energy to the whole being.” {Ministry of Healing, page 122} . Let me ask you, Are you blind? You answer of course not I can see clearly. Jesus says that His last church feels comfortable.” They feel “rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ Revelation 3:17 and Jesus says that they do not know that they are actually “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Since they feel okay and in need of nothing they do not understand their great need to pray for the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit in their lives day after day and throughout each day. In fact the blindness isn’t among the members alone but touches leaders as well. Jesus spoke of the Spiritual blindness among the church leaders of His day and said, “They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” The sadness is that spiritual blindness is usually not discerned. Those who are spiritually blind are usually sure that they see all things clearly and take offence at the possibility that Jesus is speaking to them when He says to His last church “you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked . . . be zealous and repent.” He is speaking to me. I am asking Him for His “gold” His “white garments,” and His “eye salve,” that I might be spiritually rich, clothed and seeing clearly. I’m asking Him often for His Greatest Gift, His Holy Spirit. If you are one of the “WISE” you will also. If you are one of the “FOOLISH” or remain “FOOLISH” you will think that Jesus is talking to someone else. You won’t think it applies to you and you will not follow Jesus commandment to “BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT!” Revelation 3:19. But if you are really one of those who “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus,” (Revelation 14:12) You will accept His loving counsel, You will seek for His Greatest Gift, His Holy Spirit daily and you will “be zealous and repent.” . Will you write out a short prayer for the Holy Spirit like David wrote out his prayers in Psalms and come and post (short) prayers for the Holy Spirit in our lives? – Pray for yourself and the one who come and read and specifically ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit and claim a promise– write short, from the heart – not fancy. “Father I ask you to help each reader understand their great need to ask often for heaven’s greatest gift, Your Holy Spirit. We ask You to give each of us Your Greatest Gift, Your Holy Spirit, based on Your promise “ask and it will be given’ Thank you in Jesus name, amen.” Pray like David, Blind Bartimaeus, the Centurion, the Gentile woman – Pray in your great need that you will pray for the “Oil” of the Holy Spirit that you might be commended by Christ as having “Great Faith” because it is prayers of faith that result in the GREATEST GIFT GOD CAN BESTOW, HIS HOLY SPIRIT – A better gift than a warehouse containing pallets and pallets of one hundred dollar bills for the Spirit of God is heaven’s GREATES GIFT! And you can have this gift one day at a time. One prayer at a time. Keep your heart uplifted to God and He will continue to fill you with His Spirit! - You will be WISE AND SAVED AT LAST!
