Hi - Karen Cappuccio here - Im not on Facebook and Ive only written on my husbands account one other time - but theres something thats been troubling my heart and Ive woken up in the middle of the night thinking about it over the last few nights - Im writing this tonight in hopes it may help someone else who is troubled by the same issue - its that sad story about the 29 year old woman out in Oregon with the brain tumor who took her own life. Doctors gave her a death sentence so she and her family moved from California to Oregon because in Oregon you can legally purchase the medication that will do the job. Interesting how this story brought the whole issue of assisted suicide back front and center again. Perhaps because she put a young, vibrant, pretty face on it and she was willing to go so public- VERY PUBLIC - but I believe we are going to hear about these kinds of stories more and more - especially with social media! Being in a place of believing God for a great physical healing myself - and being basically housebound - Ive had plenty of time to contemplate life and death issues - and though there was a time I couldnt even fathom someone making such a decision - I think I get it now and I understand her choice - for one simple reason - she had no hope - I dont mean the wing and a prayer kind of I hope so hope - I mean the kind of hope God deposits in His Covenant Childrens hearts! That kind of hope is tangible and it changes EVERYTHING! Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1 - I believe - with all my heart - that hope - the God kind of hope - is the bridge that leads to having true faith - and if the devil can rob our hope he can steal our faith! That poor girl out in Oregon was trying to spare herself, her husband and her family the pain was that sure to come - I pray for them daily - salvation and a relationship with God. But as believers - who put their trust in God - we can have the confidence of the hope that lies within us no matter what the journey turns out to be - because HE IS FAITHFUL WHO HAS PROMISED (Hebrews 10:23) and Hes not a man that He should lie (Hebrews 23:19) - If it wasnt for God and the hope He has put in my heart I would loose my ever-loving-mind having to walk the path Im on - and maybe you would too - BUT JESUS- the Author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews12:2) has kept me - and Hell keep you too - now more than ever in history we need to preach the uncompromised Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost - without us the world has no hope! NOW THE GOD OF (ALL) HOPE FILL YOU WITH ALL JOY AND PEACE IN BELIEVING, THAT YOU MAY ABOUND IN HOPE, THROUGH THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST Romans 15:13 - I hope this helps someone - love & blessings, Karen
