Hi All I have been doing athletics for 8 ½ years now. So far I have taken part in both regional and national competitions and I have been to Special Olympics twice, Leicester in 2009 where I won silver in the 400m and gold in the 200m, and Bath in 2013 where I won bronze in the 100 m relay race, bronze in the 100m and silver in the shot putt. I have been selected to go to Antwerp in Belgium in September 2014 to represent Great Britain in the European Special Olympics Summer Games 2014. I feel so proud getting the chance to compete in the European Games representing my country . Getting selected for the Europeans Special Olympics in Antwerp Belgium is just the beginning of my adventure I now have to do more work to get me there I have to raise around £1500. To start this off we have arranged a New Year Ceilidh in Cambusbarron Community Centre on the 3rd of January 19.30 to 23.30 bring your own bottle and food, I hope everyone will be able to come along, tickets will £8.00 and £4.00 children under 3 free . We are also having a Day of Dance where people of all ages can come along and try lots of different types of dance from Highland to Line Dancing, there will also be teas coffee, home baking and light lunches.
