Hi All I posted the following on the New Hope facebook page in response to the some of the negative comments with little basis in fact were posted on the very successful event the Mayor, Wilson Weed, the Chamber and other stage lasted night. Great job to all. I guess freedom of speech is band on the New Hope facebook page if it doesnt agree with their views. I dont usually do this but I here it is. Remeber this is sarcasm. The was a great event for our town. I was very disturbed and frustrated by this event and with the people involved in making it happen. There seemed to be around 2,000 people walking around “my town” buying food and drink from local vendors that help them make a living, provide jobs and survive during the weekdays and winter months when business is down. Who are they to impose on me and my self-importance? I was really pist-off that everyone was friendly and happy which forced me to respond in kind. How dare they ruin my negative view of everything and not have anything to complain about. There was a live band playing music with friends, neighbors and visitors all listening, dancing, engaging each other and just having a good time. Who are they to have fun? Let them have fun and spend their money somewhere else, not in “my town”. I remember the good days of Lambertville when houses were in disrepair and abandon, businesses were boarded up and you could park anywhere you wanted, ah the good old days. Then the Mayor introduced me to Senator Booker who graciously shook my hand and told me how wonderful a town and event this was and spent a few minutes of his time to talk to me. Who the hell does he think he is being nice and personable and liking all of this? Go like someone else’s town. I’m concerned about parking and not engaging with others. Many people came up to me and told me how much they love the food, music and the scene and they hope they do this again. Please stop, you are only encouraging them to do it again? And finally, I was forced to park across the street and a few yards up from my normal parking spot just in front of my house. That was the final straw. I won’t stand for this! So Mayor Dave, Mr.Weed, Chamber of Commerce, and all that made this successful event happen without any major problems or issues that I saw, you should be ashamed of yourselves. How do you expect me to be happy if you don’t give me anything to gripe about? Also, thanks for the future added stress that you will cause me when you do this again. It looks like I will need to take stress leave from work, again!
