Hi All, I was asked to share this message from the family who surrendered dear little Cookie the lamb to us yesterday, Please take the time to read: Hi to all of the friends of the Brightside Farm Sanctuary. We are the human family of Cookie, and together with our kids (6&8) we made the tough decision to rehome our little lamb to Brightside sanctuary. Cookie was born blind and while we could love him, cherish him and provide for him, we could not give him a home for life where there would be no change as well as a lifelong companion who would be his eyes. Cookie will be housed with 2 new buddies, a piglet and a goat and a home that will never change and he also has the honour of being the Brightside Ambassador for sheep. This whole experience has changed us in so many ways and has taught our children many valuable lessons which they otherwise would not have experienced. In turn, my children have taught me so many things and made me one proud mummy! As a result of rehoming Cookie, the kids are passionate about fund raising for Brightside to help other animals which currently call Brightside home and the animals who in the future will call Brightside home. Places like Brightside cannot exist without the support of people like you and I! People who care! We are all following this page for one or many reasons. We all no doubt care about the animals who have no voice but this page is also a reminder that people like Emma and her team do exist and personally, that gives me HOPE! As you are all aware, Brightside is currently fundraising for a new animal ambulance, but they need our help. There are at least 19,500 of us on this page and can you imagine if we all donated between $2-$5. If we all swapped our coffee for today and donated that cup to Brightside. The possibilities are endless. All donations over $2 are tax deductable. I am one of those people who typically donates money to charities but never fund raises. I am one of those people who also looks at something and says I will do it later and never does. Today, I am emotionally connected to this cause and would ask that you check out the video in the link below and then click to donate whatever it is that you can afford, but please do not put it off until later. This is an amazing haven for the sick, the injured and the unwanted. Show that you care.
