Hi All, Id like to share an experience with you all.... I was diagnosed with RP when I was 14 and although I learned to drive, I had to rescind my licence in 1998 - a pretty horrible experience at the time, and I felt that my freedom had been taken away. I turned 40 today and, as a surprise gift, my wife organised as 4x4 experience for me with a company called Explore 4x4 who cater for the visually impaired as well as fully sighted people. To cut a long story short, I spent over a hour behind the wheel of a Land Rover Discovery tackling an off road course. An awesome experience, one of the greatest feelings ever!! The instructor (Malcolm) was brilliant. I would highly recommend this to anyone who misses the feeling that driving gives you.
