Hi All, Just wanted to give you an update on my beautiful wife, Calla Morris Hess. Last night they moved her to a specialty brain injury hospital in Jacksonville, FL. The hospital here is considered one of the best in the state and this region of the country! The people are great and have made us feel very confident in their treatment plan. I am able to stay here with her and participate in many of the therapy sessions too so that I can learn what to do when the day comes that we all can go home. Today was spent meeting the different therapists and doctors that will focus on Callas medical needs and her physical/verbal/occupational skills. We all know that this process can be what we have been referring to as the long road ahead of us. As her doctor told us at the start this is a marathon, not a sprint. Some people have taken what I have posted earlier as that all things are back or almost back to normal. I just want to make it clear that we have had great, wonderful improvements but we are still talking about small steps in the scheme of things, there is still a lot of hard work ahead of us. We are not sure how long we will be here but we will stay as long as is needed to get Calla completely on the path she needs to be. Since I am in Jacksonville too I have been blessed to work for a company called Christian Care Ministry that has fully supported me and Calla in this difficult time. They have worked with me to not worry about the office but to concentrate on what is important, my wife! This is a critical time at work too because we are in the process of moving to a new building and for the I.T. person that I am I should be working there 24/7 getting things ready. So I would like to express my gratitude to those people who are covering for me and for the company I work for. This has made it much easier for me because I know that it is critical that whenever my wife lifts her head and looks around that I am here for her. Calla is aware that there are many people praying for her and that love her and she is very thankful for that. Keep praying and sending your love by Facebook or cards. We know for sure that God is listening to every prayer and is answering them!
