Hi All! So you may have heard a lot about me recently! Ive deliberately not posted anything about the past few days events on this page because I do not want it to be associated with my run for council any more than it inevitably has become. There are of course people wondering if I started it just to benefit my campaign. But even though media has to know and report that I am running. I made it very clear to them that this was not what it was about. As anyone who knows me or has followed my exploits over the last few years would know, I probably would have done a petition or helped someone do a petition regardless of if I was running. I actually created the petition around 1AM on Thursday night while I was in bed surfing Facebook on the iPad! lol. Hmm this is neat.. maybe itll work.. couldnt hurt then 24 hours later... Whoa. Never thought for a minute that it would grow to the point where Id have news organizations from around the province phoning me and knocking on the door. And if someone else had done it, then theyd be the ones answering, and I would have only been a signee. :) But of course Im glad it has worked out the way it has. It has been an incredible combination of public concern from various sectors, powerful social media forces, and terrible coincidence with the West Kelowna and other BC Interior fires flaring up after the petition started. It is a hugely important issue and it is heartening that the greater media has recognized it as such. The response has been overwhelming. So thats all there is to say about that. Well hopefully get back to our regularly scheduled city issues soon. :) No link or anything will be provided here. Plenty of other places to get that! Cheers, Chris
