Hi Amanda Council has no powers to assess, approve or refuse any DA for a telecommunications tower. We can and have advised NBN Co and Telstra/Optus on community consultation. NBN held a Lismore/Ballina consultation in Alstonville several months ago and at that forum they had maps of proposed towers. They have subsequently circulated info in Nimbin and the Jiggi areas for public info sessions. If one is not proposed for Wyrallah, you might like to request one. The tower proposed for 392 Skyline Rd South is part of a network of 20 towers (15 new and 5 co-located on existing towers) Although I have not seen the letter you received, I understand it has an address and date by which submissions should be sent. I reiterate that council has no role in the approval of the towers. If you and others feel that the consultation is inadequate, please let NBN Co know and ask others to cc Council too.
