As a reader receiving an authors newsletter, what are the types of things you would like to see the author provide? Content: Excerpts of current Works in Progress Advance Chapters of Upcoming releases First view of new covers Buy links and blurbs when new books are released Giveaways Free books/novellas/shorts/deleted scenes Free Serialised fiction ie I have an idea to release a new book 1- 3 chapters per newsletter- would this appeal to you? Blog excerpts or full blog posts Interactive questions where responses are required ie email photos, or written content etc Structure: One liner email Nicely set out with images and content with the look of a magazine Actualy magazine format in pdf with more than one page of content Timing: Once a month Forthnightly Weekly Im trying to find out if readers would want valuable content in the newsletter they receive from an author. As is the case when Authors post to their FB pages, the content is regular and interactive. The concern of many authors is in the possibility that such networks like Facebook/G+ etc will eventually fail us. More and more authors and bloggers have seen the lack of visibility in their Page posts, the push to pay to promote posts etc, the pressure to stand out when the social network you use is the one to limit your interaction. One option for authors is to use the functionality of the newsletter to better deliver content to a reader that is satisfying and not just a constant new release with links So please feel free to tell what you want from your authors newsletter.
