Hi Brothers and Sisters Today we are going to discuss the importance of finding peace in The Lord. There are many places in Scripture where God tells us to be at peace. Were definitely going to cover a few of these verses, as in our busy schedules Ive come to find...and Im sure you have as well...that our peace seems to dwindle, and in some cases, it ceases to exist at all. So...if youll please get your Bibles out, and turn with me to Psalm 34:14. Here we read...Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. Now, Im sure we can all agree that our sense of peace deepens as we move closer to our Lord. And we all know...that this doesnt mean that our lives will be peachy 24/7! But, were told in the above verse to depart from evil, do good and to seek peace and pursue it...which in our lives (Christinas and mine) means that we seek peace in The Lord and find it in pursuing Him. Id imagine that many of you do the same. For me, Ive found that I love going out in nature...seeking Him and His peace while taking pictures or walking around this endless beauty Im surrounded by. When I do this, the peace that flows through me is awesome! And God guides me to extend that peace to others through kind words and a smile that conveys it. Its a genuine warmth that can only come from within the Spirit that in-dwells us. So, I believe Im being guided to share these words...to encourage you to seek God daily and to find things that bring peace into your life! As we all know how hectic our days can become. In closing, I will leave you with Philippians 4;6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
