Hi Chilipals, If youve ever called our office, weve probably spoken before. Im Karin, and I have had the privilege of being part of Blairs Death Sauce Team for ten years. During that time, Blair has taught me so much about doing whats right and caring not only for our fellow chiliheads, but for people in general. We have shared in great times and rough ones as well. As you probably know by now, our Death Sauce HQ was all but destroyed two years ago, on October 29, 2012. And that in itself was devastating. But what you dont know is that only 45 days after the nightmare of Hurricane Sandy, Blair filed for divorce from his wife. While he prefers to leave extreme to his food, unfortunately things dont always work out as hoped. However, he remains hopeful that his personal matters will soon be resolved. Hes been through a lot in last two years, and while many in his position might feel discouraged, Blair has gained strength through his passion. His passion and love for his children led him to his endeavors with fathers rights groups to help other caring dads across America. His passion for chilies led him to his all-new, top-secret project that youll hear about in the coming months. And his passion for hot sauce led him to make a series of crazy concoctions in honor of Death Sauces 25th Anniversary!! Despite the massive negativity of the last two years, I can thankfully say that Blair remains a very positive force. He is strong, determined, and dedicated to doing the right thing...for his immediate family, and his chilihead family alike. So why am I sharing this with you? Because you are our chilihead family. And because I care about how its affected you, our chilipeeps. And perhaps sharing this info will give you a better understanding of whats been happening.....and, what hasnt. We havent made the 2012 Halloween Reserve. We have been in recovery mode for the past two years, and in trying to move forward, we havent been able to go back....yet. But please rest assured. Blair said there will be a 2012 bottle, so there WILL BE a 2012 bottle. And we havent thanked you for sending your videos! So thank you! We enjoyed watching each and every one, and we sincerely appreciate the effort and creativity you put into them. Each was very different, but there was one thing they all shared: they were way....too....short. But thats our bad, not yours. We heard your pleas to make longer videos, and we have a plan. We also havent mentioned updates on the 2014 Halloween Bash. Or that Scott Roberts had to cancel the webcast for personal reasons. Or that there were power limitations at the farm. Or any of the other multiple issues that unexpectedly arose. Or that in the end, the Blairs 2014 Halloween Bash had to be, dare I say it....cancelled. While its very disappointing, one thing weve learned over the past two years is that you have to roll with the changes and try to make the most of them. So....heres the deal. Theres no Bash this year, but no worries! Those that have already sent in their videos will be the FIRST EVER to receive their free six-pack of Blairs INSANE new 25th Anniversary Limited-Edition Sauces!! But please be patient. Were still printing labels and Blair is still cooking as we speak! Youll get them before they go on sale to the public the moment theyre done!! Now, because we agree that the videos were rushed and 30 seconds did not allow you enough time to complete your ideas, were gonna give everyone a second, longer chance. Well accept additional videos, of whatever length you can send, until Thanksgiving Day.
