Hi DoneDealers, my name is Donna and I’m the person you normally - TopicsExpress

Hi DoneDealers, my name is Donna and I’m the person you normally chat to here on the DoneDeal Facebook page. I wanted to grab your attention for a moment to discuss some concerns that some people are having with us at the moment, particularly the DSPCA. Most of you know that we have a dog section which offers a space for people to advertise their dogs or puppies for sale or rehoming. We know from hearing from DoneDealers that so many of you have found your loving pet from this and we love hearing those stories. The down side, as is often the way in life, some not so nice people have sometimes tried to misuse our service or aren’t the sort of seller that we would want on the site, and it’s those sellers that we are working so hard to stop. We don’t want to run from this issue and simply pass the problem onto the next website so were trying to actually work towards change, help to develop regulations, work with authorities like the ISPCA, Dogs Trust and the Revenue to actually prosecute the people that are doing this once and for all. This is why we’ve spent the past number of years working on updates and improvements to not only our policies (like not allowing ads for dogs for stud, or banning the reference to any killing or hunting) but also the development and improvement of PetAware and the work we do with the ISPCA and Dogs Trust. We’re always working on improving our system to help stop any dodgy activity slipping through. We’re actually rolling out improvements today that we’re really excited about that will help improve the screening of dogs ads. We asked our friends at the ISPCA and Dog’s Trust who we work closely with to help us clarify what we’ve done so far and what plans we have for the future: blog.donedeal.ie/2014/05/donedeal-petaware-worked-far/
