Hi Everyone Father Steve Casey has asked me to share the following information regarding the life events of Father Bob Pocock Robert Joseph Pocock passed away peacefully at Nazareth House in Geraldton on Sunday morning 28th December 2014. Fr Pocock was born at Bendigo (Diocese of Sandhurst), Victoria on 7th May 1935. He was educated at the Marist Brother’s College in Bendigo and received his seminary formation at Christ the King Seminary in Melbourne. He was ordained to the Priesthood on 22nd October 1963 by Bishop Arthur Fox for the Congregation of the Most Blessed Sacrament. On 10th October 1977, Fr Pocock was Incardinated into the Diocese of Geraldton having first arrived in the Diocese in September 1972. Fr Pocock’s appointments in the Diocese were: · 1972 – 1977 Cathedral Assistant Priest, Geraldton · 1976 – 1985 Chancellor of the Diocese, Geraldton · 1978 – 1985 Cathedral Administrator, Geraldton · 1986 – 1992 Parish Priest of Carnarvon · 1991 – 1992 Assistant Priest at Faulkner Melbourne · 1992 – 2004 Parish Priest of Karratha · 1994 – 2007 Vicar General of the Diocese · 2005 – 2014 Priest-in-Charge of Wickham · February 2014 Retired to the Bishops House in Geraldton and soon after moved to Nazareth House because of ill health Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
