Hi Everyone, Here is the most recent update on Kristie fight with Cancer. The Radiation began last Friday ( June 20), Kristie has been making daily trips to the cross. Some days are full days and other days like today are just quick in and out sessions. Over the last couple days it was noticed that Kristie was having some issues with swallowing, the Drs were able to check it out and its the brain cancer pushing on the swallowing nerves which is making it very difficult for her to swallow. The radiation should make this better after the 5 set which was today. Mom, Dad and I were with Kristie today and its seems to be better and hopefully will continue to get better with more radiation treatments. As well Kristies other hip started to get sore over the last couple days and the Drs checked it out and there is new cancer in her ball and socket of the other leg. The good news is that she is able to get radiation done on both hips starting tomorrow as well as continue the brain radiation for another 5 days. So radiation on her brain (ten sets) and radiation on her hips (5 sets each). The leg in which Kristie had surgery on for the fracture has been good and Kristie is able to put more weight on it. Mom and Dad spent Monday all day and Tuesday all day with Kristie at the cross. They were long days and very exhausting for all of them. They were able to get Kristie a walker which has helped out a lot and a small wheel chair for when she has to go long distances. If you see Kristie walking towards you with that walker you might want to get out of the way as she can cruise along pretty good with that thing. haha. Shelby and Cooper have had a few turns with each and Cooper tries to steal walker away from Kristie as she is heading down the hallway. It has been a long week for everyone but mom and dad were able to have a few laughs with Kristie over the last few days. Apparently Mom has permanent smile lines on her face because everyone was smiling and waving at her when she was at the cross. Tyson, Kristie and the kids are flying out east on the Saturday after the last radiation for a visit with Tysons Family. Kevin and Karen, I hope you have your running shoes on because Cooper man doesnt stop moving. They are all looking forward to seeing you. The radiation ends next Friday and then the Williams head East for a visit for two weeks and then home for a week. Chemo will start on July 28th Kristie was given the green light on a new trial drug that will be an injection every three weeks.
