Hi Everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Missy, as you can see from my profile picture. I grew up in Kankakee, graduated from Kankakee High School in 1994, and for personal reasons, I moved to California in 1998. It ended up being a very good move for me and my two little boys. Los Angeles is SO diverse and the cultural influences are so intriguing to me! I love learning about different backgrounds and ways of doing things. If you ever get a chance to visit, you really should. I frequently visit home because most of my family and some of my best friends still live there. I miss Kankakee in the Fall especially :( I enjoy seeing old and new photos of HOME. I created this page because the other Facebook pages for Kankakee started to post mean photos and negativity about people and/or politics in the community. l dont have time to entertain that type of behavior and it seemed that others did not either. I hope this page can serve as a platform of encouragement and positive change to everyone in the Kankakee community. A place where we can meet a need, lend a hand, or just give some encouragement.
