Hi, Everyone, Im thrilled to see your familiar faces and to read your stories. Ill try to be brief. I arrived in St. Lou in 77, graduated in violin in 83. It took a long time because of Carol Tafoyas piano proficiency exam. I married Buster May in 82. He died suddenly in 83 just 10 days before our daughter Chelsea was born. I studied violin and a lot of pedagogy as Chelsea learned the violin growing up. I taught for many years at the St. Louis Symphony Music School and at Indiana University String Academy. I married again briefly, and had my second daughter, Ellery in 1989 who now lives in St. Paul close by. Since 2001 I have been married to Bruce Coppock. We live in St. Paul, Minnesota where he runs the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and where I maintain a home studio and teach summers at the U of Minnesota School of Music chamber program, Bravo. He also has two grown children, Liz and Alex, and we are grandparents to Karson, Chelseas two year old baby girl. Bruce is an eight year survivor of cancer of the bile duct which he was not expected to survive. Ive been writing for a number of years and have a newly published book entitled Blond Boy. Here is my website: Luciamaypoet Please also come visit my FB page for my students and friends, Lucia May Violin Studio. Im not sure how this group works, but I hope our membership means were friends!
