Hi Everyone. It is with deep sadness that we honor the passing of long time New York State Senator and public servant Owen Johnson. Senator Johnson placed the needs of citizens first, and worked diligently to keep our school taxes low while providing the highest level of services possible. Always a great supporter of his beloved GOP party, I am particularly grateful for Senator Johnsons unselfish appearances at fundraisers during my previous campaigns for Suffolk County Legislature. Senator Johnson will be severely missed by his family and friends. I will always look up to Senator Johnson as a mentor as to how someone should conduct themselves in the public eye, and keep his memory alive by recalling favorable character traits and moments. Senator Johnson is a man of great dignity and grace. I know that the Senator is home in Heaven, and safe, and young, and vibrant. I regret I will not be able to attend services to say this in person due to a pre-planned ski trip with my son, but my thoughts will be with Senator Johnson and his family and friends throughout the coming days.
